We are proud to announce our upcoming exhibition by Russian activist artist Pavel Krisevitsj, opening November 1st at Galerie de Schans.
The 24 year old artist is currently imprisoned in Moscow for his outspoken activism against the Russian regime. Krisevitsj continues to create art from within the stark confines of his prison cell, offering a powerful commentary on oppression and resilience.

Pavel Krisevitsj has gained international attention for his bold, provocative actions and performances that challenge the status quo in Russia. His imprisonment, a direct consequence of his defiance against governmental censorship and repression, has not silenced his voice.
Instead, Krisevitsj has found new ways to express his resistance, using the very tools available to him in captivity—scraps of paper, ink, makeshift brushes, and found objects from his cell.

The exhibition at Galerie de Schans will showcase a selection of Krisevitsj's works, smuggled out of prison by his supporters. His works blend abstract and figurative elements, often infused with dark irony and metaphors drawn from his experiences of isolation, confinement, and resistance.

Despite his imprisonment, his art remains a form of protest—a cry for freedom not only for himself but for all those suffering under autocratic regimes. This show serves as a call to action, reminding us of the importance of artistic freedom, and the role that art can play in sparking change.
Don’t miss this powerful, evocative show by one of the most courageous artists of our time.
