BOOK LAUNCH 4TH OF MAY : My uncle kept his dreams under his bed by Jaap Scheren

My uncle kept his dreams under his bed by Jaap Scheren

‘My Uncle kept his dreams under his bed’ is a 196-page book filled with even more sketches, found under the bed of Jaap his uncle, Maarten van Koolwijk.

After Maarten’s early passing, a box was found filled with drawings of futuristic cars. His nephew Jaap decided to fulfill his uncle’s silent dream of becoming a car designer, bringing one of his drawings to life as a forever-driving 3D model, on show at Galerie de Schans.

Join us for the book launch, happening during the finissage of Jaap Scheeren‘s current show at Galerie de Schans.

We’re very, very excited to announce that Boeman will be performing live during the event.

May 4th, from 14:00 to 17:00 at Warmoesstraat 67.

Jaap Scheeren (1979) is a photographer and visual artist. He creates work to remember and to forge new memories. He has an investigative approach to life, adding layers on top of reality, based on his memories and lived experiences.

To him, life is surprising, loving and gentle, but sometimes explosive, mean, and dirty - yet, more often than not, quite boring.
