Following Bonne Suit's exhibition by Pavel Krisevich, we have partnered up with IDFA Meets to continue spotlighting the Russian protest art scene.
Queendom is a documentary about Gena Marvin, a queer artist from Magadan, Russia, who uses radical, imaginative performances to challenge societal norms.
Often crafting extreme costumes from unconventional materials like duct tape and recycled items, Gena blends their appearance with performance, transforming their body into a living protest. Their work confronts public perceptions and amplifies visibility for Russia's LGBTQ+ community.
The film will be accompanied by a discussion session afterwards.
Additionally, we warmly invite you to stay and take a closer look at Pavel Krisevich's work which will be on display, while enjoying drinks and more.
